No — it manages lists, campaigns, and analytics, then hands messages to an SMTP provider you configure. That keeps deliverability in the hands of a service built for it, while the subscriber data stays on your server.
Do I need to run a database install step?
No. Listmonk normally needs a one-off --install to create its schema; this template runs it on first boot and it is idempotent, so redeploys and upgrades are safe.
