Frequently asked questions
Can it read Indonesian documents?
Yes — set the OCR language at deploy. Use `ind` for Indonesian, or `ind+eng` to handle both, which is usually what you want for mixed paperwork.
Why does it need Redis?
OCR is slow, so Paperless runs it as a background task queue rather than blocking your upload. Redis is that queue's broker — it is part of a working install, not an optional extra.
How do I get documents in?
Upload them through the web interface, or drop files into the consume directory. Paperless also has a mobile-friendly UI and can pull documents straight from a mailbox.
